Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2004 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Lock Gate III by Humphrey Spender. The price achieved of GBP 358.50 (€ 536.64) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Humphrey Spender achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sails At Rab in March 2008 with an auction result of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,967.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lock Gate III von Humphrey Spender zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 358,50 (€ 536,64) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Humphrey Spender erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sails At Rab im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.967,18).
