Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Three nudes by Hu Yongkai was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in February last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 50,000.00 – 100,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 40,320.00 (€ 4,594.55). Admittedly, works by Hu Yongkai have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Lady in April this year with an auction result of HKD 36,000.00 (€ 36,763.04).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Three nudes von Hu Yongkai im Februar letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 50.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 40.320,00 (€ 4.594,55) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hu Yongkai auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Lady im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 36.000,00 (€ 36.763,04).
