A top price for Hou Junming
When the work New Paradise (Set Of Seven) by Hou Junming was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2007, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 400,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at HKD 1,807,500.00 (€ 161,160.84). This high result makes New Paradise (Set Of Seven) the most expensive artwork by Hou Junming that we have observed at auctions so far.

Als die Arbeit New Paradise (Set Of Seven) von Hou Junming im Oktober 2007 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 400.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 1.807.500,00 (€ 161.160,84) mehr als viermal so hoch. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht New Paradise (Set Of Seven) zu dem teuersten Kunstwerk von Hou Junming, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
