Sold at the lower estimate price
In September 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Asia, which included the work Journal By Pillow by Hou Junming. The result of USD 15,000.00 (€ 10,652.65) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hou Junming achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work New Paradise (Set Of Seven) in October 2007 with an auction result of HKD 1,807,500.00 (€ 161,160.84).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im September 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Asia durch, in der auch die Arbeit Journal By Pillow von Hou Junming zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 10.652,65) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hou Junming erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit New Paradise (Set Of Seven) im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.807.500,00 (€ 161.160,84).
