Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work God Hates You (Set Of Seven) by Hou Junming was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2007, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 300,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 1,027,500.00 (€ 91,614.25). Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Hou Junming; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot New Paradise (Set Of Seven) sold at auction in October 2007 with the realized price of HKD 1,807,500.00 (€ 161,160.84).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit God Hates You (Set Of Seven) von Hou Junming im Oktober 2007 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 300.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 1.027.500,00 (€ 91.614,25) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Hou Junming; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit New Paradise (Set Of Seven) im Oktober 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 1.807.500,00 (€ 161.160,84).
