Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Man Seated Near Stove by Horace Pippin was auctioned at Phillips in New York in November this year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 150,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 171,450.00 (€ 157,178.22). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Horace Pippin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Holy Mountain, I in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 3,255,000.00 (€ 2,874,679.86).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Man Seated Near Stove von Horace Pippin kam im November diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 150.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 171.450,00 (€ 157.178,22) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Horace Pippin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Holy Mountain, I im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.255.000,00 (€ 2.874.679,86).
