Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Horace Bristol could be acquired at Christies in New York in April 2000 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Photographs auction, the work Los Angeles Scenes: Tunnel Entrance (with light) (1933) changed hands for USD 822.50 (€ 904.94) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Horace Bristol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work PBY Blister Gunner, Rescue at Rabaul, 1944 in October 2017 with an auction result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 25,755.49).
