Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Horace Bristol could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in July 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Photographs from the Ginny Williams Collection auction, the work Invasion No. 37 changed hands for USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,431.63) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Horace Bristol - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work PBY Blister Gunner, Rescue at Rabaul, 1944, which sold at auction in October 2017 for USD 30,000.00 (€ 25,755.49).
