The price achieved of USD 11,875.00 (€ 10,085.78) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Horace Bristol - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work PBY Blister Gunner, Rescue at Rabaul, 1944, which sold at auction in October 2017 for USD 30,000.00 (€ 25,755.49).
