It achieved a price of EUR 11,250.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 41 %. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hermanus Willem Koekkoek - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hussars, which sold at auction in October 2006 for EUR 38,400.00.

Die Arbeit French Infantery Entering A Town von Hermanus Willem Koekkoek wurde im Mai 2013 in der Auktion Old Masters and 19th Century Art bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 11.250,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 41 %. Für andere Arbeiten von Hermanus Willem Koekkoek mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Hussars beobachtet, die im Oktober 2006 für EUR 38.400,00 versteigert wurde.
