It achieved a price of EUR 7,500.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 50 %. Admittedly, works by Hermanus Willem Koekkoek have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hussars in October 2006 with an auction result of EUR 38,400.00.

Die Arbeit 'A dour laddie of the Hindy-War' The 2nd batallion Gordon-Highlanders von Hermanus Willem Koekkoek kam im April 2010 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 7.500,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 50 %. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hermanus Willem Koekkoek auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hussars im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 38.400,00.
