Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Escaped Bird by Henry Tonks was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2006. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,160.00 (€ 3,152.90) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Tonks - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Study for 'An Advanced Dressing Station in France', which sold at auction in June 2018 for GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,301.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Escaped Bird von Henry Tonks kam im Mai 2006 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.160,00 (€ 3.152,90) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Henry Tonks mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Study for 'An Advanced Dressing Station in France' beobachtet, die im Juni 2018 für GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.301,70) versteigert wurde.
