Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Bathers by Henry Scott Tuke was sold in the British and European Art auction at Christies in New York in July this year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 50,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 52,920.00 (€ 61,741.60). Admittedly, works by Henry Scott Tuke have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Midsummer Morning in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 270,650.00 (€ 395,140.46).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Bathers von Henry Scott Tuke wurde im Juli diesen Jahres in der Auktion British and European Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 50.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 52.920,00 (€ 61.741,60) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henry Scott Tuke auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Midsummer Morning im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 270.650,00 (€ 395.140,46).
