A top price for Henry Scott Tuke - as previously expected
The work Midsummer Morning by Henry Scott Tuke was auctioned at Christies in London in February 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 270,650.00 (€ 395,140.46) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Midsummer Morning is the most expensive artwork by Henry Scott Tuke that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Midsummer Morning von Henry Scott Tuke kam im Februar 2003 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 270.650,00 (€ 395.140,46) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Midsummer Morning das teuerste Kunstwerk von Henry Scott Tuke, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
