Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Thames at Sonning by Henry Maidment was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2001. The price achieved of GBP 470.00 (€ 758.85) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Admittedly, works by Henry Maidment have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Feeding the ducks in September 2000 with an auction result of GBP 2,350.00 (€ 3,932.27).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 470,00 (€ 758,85) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henry Maidment auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Feeding the ducks im September 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.350,00 (€ 3.932,27).
