This artwork by Henry Maidment achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2005. In the BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES AND WORKS ON PAPER auction, the work Feeding The Geese Outside A Cottage sold for GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,747.68) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Maidment - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Feeding the ducks, which sold at auction in September 2000 for GBP 2,350.00 (€ 3,932.27).
