The work Fire and the Sea by Henry John Stock was worth GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,818.30) to a buyer in July 2018. This price was achieved in the auction Victorian Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Henry John Stock have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Uplifting of Psyche 'By the help of a divinity not our own' - Virgil in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 56,250.00 (€ 79,311.79).
