In July 2020 Christies in London held the auction British & European Art, which included the work The Spirit of the Night by Henry John Stock. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,154.24), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Henry John Stock have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Uplifting of Psyche 'By the help of a divinity not our own' - Virgil in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 56,250.00 (€ 79,311.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2020 führte Christies in London die Auktion British & European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Spirit of the Night von Henry John Stock zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.154,24) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henry John Stock auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Uplifting of Psyche 'By the help of a divinity not our own' - Virgil im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 56.250,00 (€ 79.311,79).
