In the The Isabel Goldsmith Collection: Selected Pre-Raphaelite and Symbolist Art auction, the work Dante and Virgil encounter Lucifer in Hell sold for GBP 5,670.00 (€ 6,770.99) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry John Stock achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Uplifting of Psyche 'By the help of a divinity not our own' - Virgil in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 56,250.00 (€ 79,311.79).
