Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work The Warrior by Henry F. Farny. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 175,000.00 (€ 156,964.75) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Henry F. Farny have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work In Pastures New in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,426,500.00 (€ 1,024,858.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Warrior von Henry F. Farny zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 175.000,00 (€ 156.964,75) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henry F. Farny auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit In Pastures New im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.426.500,00 (€ 1.024.858,11).
