Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Two Centuries: American Art, which included the work Untitled (Hunter and Deer) by Henry F. Farny. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 44,100.00 (€ 37,554.29) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry F. Farny achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In Pastures New in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,426,500.00 (€ 1,024,858.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Two Centuries: American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Hunter and Deer) von Henry F. Farny zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 44.100,00 (€ 37.554,29) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henry F. Farny erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit In Pastures New im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.426.500,00 (€ 1.024.858,11).
