A top price for Henri Rousseau
In May this year Christies in New York held the auction 20th Century Evening Sale, which included the work Les Flamants by Henri Rousseau. The »bidding war« ended at USD 43,535,000.00 (€ 40,862,586.82), 45% above the upper estimate. With this result, Les Flamants is even the most expensive work of art by Henri Rousseau that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion 20th Century Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Les Flamants von Henri Rousseau zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 43.535.000,00 (€ 40.862.586,82) und damit 45% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Mit diesem Ergebnis ist Les Flamants sogar das teuerste Kunstwerk von Henri Rousseau, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
