Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Frenchthe Gazelle Hunt by Henri Rousseau was sold in the The Orientalist Sale auction at Sothebys in London in April 2018. The price achieved of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 24,201.49) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henri Rousseau achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les Flamants in May this year with an auction result of USD 43,535,000.00 (€ 40,862,586.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Frenchthe Gazelle Hunt von Henri Rousseau wurde im April 2018 in der Auktion The Orientalist Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 21.250,00 (€ 24.201,49) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henri Rousseau erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Les Flamants im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.535.000,00 (€ 40.862.586,82).
