Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Henri Rousseau could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in January 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 19th Century European Art auction, the work Cavaliers Arabes changed hands for USD 25,000.00 (€ 22,536.73) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henri Rousseau achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les Flamants in May this year with an auction result of USD 43,535,000.00 (€ 40,862,586.82).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Henri Rousseau konnte im Januar 2020 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 19th Century European Art wechselte die Arbeit Cavaliers Arabes für USD 25.000,00 (€ 22.536,73) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henri Rousseau erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Les Flamants im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.535.000,00 (€ 40.862.586,82).
