This artwork by Henri Rousseau achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in March last year. In the The Orientalist Sale auction, the work The Hunt sold for GBP 9,450.00 (€ 11,204.04) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henri Rousseau achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les Flamants in May this year with an auction result of USD 43,535,000.00 (€ 40,862,586.82).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 89 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Henri Rousseau erzielte im März letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Orientalist Sale wurde die Arbeit The Hunt für GBP 9.450,00 (€ 11.204,04) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henri Rousseau erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Les Flamants im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.535.000,00 (€ 40.862.586,82).
