Auction result well in line with expectations
In April last year Bonhams in London held the auction Prints and Multiples, which included the work The Passion by Hendrick Goltzius. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,040.00 (€ 2,432.63) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hendrick Goltzius achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Jupiter And Antiope in January 2010 with an auction result of USD 6,802,500.00 (€ 4,904,470.08).
