Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Apollo by Hendrick Goltzius was sold in the Old Master and 19th Century Prints auction at Christies in New York in January this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,080.00 (€ 9,283.48) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hendrick Goltzius achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Jupiter And Antiope in January 2010 with an auction result of USD 6,802,500.00 (€ 4,904,470.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Apollo von Hendrick Goltzius wurde im Januar diesen Jahres in der Auktion Old Master and 19th Century Prints bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.080,00 (€ 9.283,48) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hendrick Goltzius erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Jupiter And Antiope im Januar 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.802.500,00 (€ 4.904.470,08).
