Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Maternidad by Hector Poleo was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in February 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 5,992.50 (€ 4,955.35). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hector Poleo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Maternidad in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 170,500.00 (€ 137,900.36).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Maternidad von Hector Poleo im Februar 2021 bei Bonhams in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 5.992,50 (€ 4.955,35) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hector Poleo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Maternidad im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 170.500,00 (€ 137.900,36).
