In August 2021 Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Study of Young Gums, 1899 by Hans Heysen. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 17,220.00 (€ 14,593.22), 72% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Hans Heysen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Morning Mist in March 2005 with an auction result of AUD 203,150.00 (€ 124,374.35).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 72 % übertroffen
Im August 2021 führte Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Study of Young Gums, 1899 von Hans Heysen zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 17.220,00 (€ 14.593,22) und damit 72% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hans Heysen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Morning Mist im März 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 203.150,00 (€ 124.374,35).
