In November 2020 Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Ambleside, 1914 by Hans Heysen. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 19,680.00 (€ 16,471.38), 31% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Hans Heysen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Morning Mist in March 2005 with an auction result of AUD 203,150.00 (€ 124,374.35).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 31 % übertroffen
Im November 2020 führte Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ambleside, 1914 von Hans Heysen zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 19.680,00 (€ 16.471,38) und damit 31% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hans Heysen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Morning Mist im März 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 203.150,00 (€ 124.374,35).
