This artwork by Hans Heysen achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2011. In the Modern and Contemporary Australian Art with Works by 20th Century African Artists auction, the work Ploughing the field sold for GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,314.62) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hans Heysen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Morning Mist in March 2005 with an auction result of AUD 203,150.00 (€ 124,374.35).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Hans Heysen erzielte im Oktober 2011 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Australian Art with Works by 20th Century African Artists wurde die Arbeit Ploughing the field für GBP 2.000,00 (€ 2.314,62) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hans Heysen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Morning Mist im März 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 203.150,00 (€ 124.374,35).
