Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Upstairs At Mobil: Musings Of A Shareholder by Hans Haacke was auctioned at Christies in New York in November this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,520.00 (€ 2,310.23). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hans Haacke achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Condensation Cube in February 2013 with an auction result of GBP 46,850.00 (€ 54,418.93).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Upstairs At Mobil: Musings Of A Shareholder von Hans Haacke im November diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.520,00 (€ 2.310,23) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hans Haacke erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Condensation Cube im Februar 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 46.850,00 (€ 54.418,93).
