Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Mobil: On The Right Track by Hans Haacke was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2018, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 7,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at USD 27,500.00 (€ 22,321.43). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hans Haacke - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Condensation Cube, which sold at auction in February 2013 for GBP 46,850.00 (€ 54,418.93).
