Despite this print being numbered 'AP 1/2' by the artist, no formal edition of this print was ever produced, and these large-format works remain incredibly rare to the market. In addition to the print on offer, it is believed that only one other print of the image exists in this format. That print is in the collection of the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York.

Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2019 Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work S.O.S. Starification Object Series (Performalist Self-Portrait with Les Wollam) by Hannah Wilke. The price achieved of USD 225,000.00 (€ 201,703.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 180,000.00 – 280,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hannah Wilke - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work S.O.S. Starification Object Series, which sold at auction in September 2017 for USD 708,500.00 (€ 599,762.97).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2019 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit S.O.S. Starification Object Series (Performalist Self-Portrait with Les Wollam) von Hannah Wilke zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 225.000,00 (€ 201.703,27) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 180.000,00 – 280.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Hannah Wilke mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit S.O.S. Starification Object Series beobachtet, die im September 2017 für USD 708.500,00 (€ 599.762,97) versteigert wurde.
