When the work An 18 Day Road Walking Journey From The River Rhône At Valence To The Atlantic Coast On The Border Of Spain And France Spring 1995, from A Series of Twelve Prints by Six Artists by Hamish Fulton was auctioned at Christies in New York in April this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 400.00 – 600.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1 Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hamish Fulton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled: Day 2, Wales England, Summer 1987 in April 2013 with an auction result of GBP 20,000.00 (€ 23,601.15).
