The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - NLG 20,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than seven times as high at NLG 152,126.00 (€ 71,268.60). Admittedly, works by Gysbrecht Leytens have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Winter Landscape With Hunters On A Forest Track And Children Playing On A Frozen River, Villages Beyond in November 2006 with an auction result of EUR 381,600.00.
