In May 2012 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Masters and 19th Century Art, which included the work A winter landscape with a woman and woodmen on a wooded track, a village beyond by Gysbrecht Leytens. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 43,000.00 43% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Gysbrecht Leytens have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Winter Landscape With Hunters On A Forest Track And Children Playing On A Frozen River, Villages Beyond in November 2006 with an auction result of EUR 381,600.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 43 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2012 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Old Masters and 19th Century Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A winter landscape with a woman and woodmen on a wooded track, a village beyond von Gysbrecht Leytens zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 43.000,00 und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gysbrecht Leytens auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Winter Landscape With Hunters On A Forest Track And Children Playing On A Frozen River, Villages Beyond im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 381.600,00.
