Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2005 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Torso by Guy Boyd. The price achieved of AUD 956.00 (€ 599.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Guy Boyd achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lovers Turning into a Tree in May 2001 with an auction result of AUD 23,500.00 (€ 14,086.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2005 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Torso von Guy Boyd zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 956,00 (€ 599,55) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Guy Boyd erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Lovers Turning into a Tree im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 23.500,00 (€ 14.086,10).
