Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Martin by Guy Boyd was sold in the AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS auction at Christies in Melbourne in November 2003. The price achieved of AUD 6,462.50 (€ 3,898.51) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Guy Boyd - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lovers Turning into a Tree, which sold at auction in May 2001 for AUD 23,500.00 (€ 14,086.10).

Die Arbeit Martin von Guy Boyd wurde im November 2003 in der Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS bei Christies in Melbourne versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 6.462,50 (€ 3.898,51) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Guy Boyd mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Lovers Turning into a Tree beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für AUD 23.500,00 (€ 14.086,10) versteigert wurde.
