Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Gutzon Borglum could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction, the work Centaurs changed hands for USD 10,625.00 (€ 7,343.79) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 12,000.00 – 16,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gutzon Borglum achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mares of Diomedes' in March 2006 with an auction result of USD 144,000.00 (€ 118,625.92).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gutzon Borglum konnte im Oktober 2007 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture wechselte die Arbeit Centaurs für USD 10.625,00 (€ 7.343,79) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 12.000,00 – 16.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gutzon Borglum erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mares of Diomedes' im März 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 144.000,00 (€ 118.625,92).
