In the American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction, the work Bust Of Abraham Lincoln sold for USD 28,125.00 (€ 20,793.29) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gutzon Borglum have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mares of Diomedes' in March 2006 with an auction result of USD 144,000.00 (€ 118,625.92).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Gutzon Borglum erzielte im März 2010 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture wurde die Arbeit Bust Of Abraham Lincoln für USD 28.125,00 (€ 20.793,29) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gutzon Borglum auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mares of Diomedes' im März 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 144.000,00 (€ 118.625,92).
