Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2014 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Asian Art, which included the work Eating Banana by Guo Wei. The price achieved of HKD 25,000.00 (€ 2,325.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Guo Wei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bathroom Series No. 4 in May 2008 with an auction result of HKD 1,327,500.00 (€ 109,288.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2014 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Eating Banana von Guo Wei zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 25.000,00 (€ 2.325,16) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Guo Wei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bathroom Series No. 4 im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.327.500,00 (€ 109.288,40).
