This artwork by Guo Wei achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2014. In the Contemporary Asian Art auction, the work Cloudy Room No. 6 sold for HKD 437,500.00 (€ 40,690.34) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 240,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Guo Wei - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bathroom Series No. 4, which sold at auction in May 2008 for HKD 1,327,500.00 (€ 109,288.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 82 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Guo Wei erzielte im April 2014 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Cloudy Room No. 6 für HKD 437.500,00 (€ 40.690,34) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 240.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Guo Wei mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bathroom Series No. 4 beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für HKD 1.327.500,00 (€ 109.288,40) versteigert wurde.
