Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Guo Shangxian achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2015. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Calligraphy Couplet In Running Script sold for USD 11,875.00 (€ 11,055.77) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Guo Shangxian - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Poem In Running Script, which sold at auction in May 2017 for HKD 224,200.00 (€ 25,600.62).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Guo Shangxian erzielte im März 2015 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Running Script für USD 11.875,00 (€ 11.055,77) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Guo Shangxian mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Poem In Running Script beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für HKD 224.200,00 (€ 25.600,62) versteigert wurde.
