This artwork by Guo Shangxian achieved an unexpectedly high price at China Guardian in Hong Kong in April 2018. In the Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Calligraphy In Running Script sold for HKD 41,300.00 (€ 4,357.81) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Guo Shangxian have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Poem In Running Script in May 2017 with an auction result of HKD 224,200.00 (€ 25,600.62).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Guo Shangxian erzielte im April 2018 bei China Guardian in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script für HKD 41.300,00 (€ 4.357,81) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Guo Shangxian auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Poem In Running Script im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 224.200,00 (€ 25.600,62).
