Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Calligraphy In Running Script by Guo Shangxian was worth HKD 76,700.00 (€ 8,766.70) to a buyer in October 2019. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy at China Guardian in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 20,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Guo Shangxian - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Poem In Running Script, which sold at auction in May 2017 for HKD 224,200.00 (€ 25,600.62).

Die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script von Guo Shangxian war einem Käufer im Oktober 2019 HKD 76.700,00 (€ 8.766,70) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy bei China Guardian in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 20.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Guo Shangxian mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Poem In Running Script beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für HKD 224.200,00 (€ 25.600,62) versteigert wurde.
