Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Nunca Sabre Su Nombre; Collar #7: Two Works by Guillermo Conte was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in February 2009, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 5,000.00 (€ 3,948.82). Other works by Guillermo Conte have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May 2006 by the work without title at USD 8,400.00 (€ 6,545.62).
