Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Starry Floor III by Gregory Amenoff was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,125.00 (€ 1,498.27). Admittedly, works by Gregory Amenoff have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Evenfall in March 2007 with an auction result of USD 12,000.00 (€ 8,972.63).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Starry Floor III von Gregory Amenoff im März 2011 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.125,00 (€ 1.498,27) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gregory Amenoff auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Evenfall im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.000,00 (€ 8.972,63).
