Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Force That Through the Green Fuse Drives the Flower IV by Gregory Amenoff was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in March last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 382.50 (€ 344.81). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gregory Amenoff achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Evenfall in March 2007 with an auction result of USD 12,000.00 (€ 8,972.63).
