Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In February 2016 Phillips in London held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work The Turtle and the Hare by Grear Patterson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 9,375.00 (€ 12,012.90), 17% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Grear Patterson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pants On Fire, which sold at auction in May 2015 for USD 40,000.00 (€ 36,383.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Februar 2016 führte Phillips in London die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Turtle and the Hare von Grear Patterson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 9.375,00 (€ 12.012,90) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Grear Patterson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Pants On Fire beobachtet, die im Mai 2015 für USD 40.000,00 (€ 36.383,48) versteigert wurde.
